The Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University, seeks to achieve a more prominent international reputation through their increased involvement in the exchange of students and researchers as well as joint research projects. Our program now offers interdisciplinary courses in which lectures, instruction, seminars and research-related supervision are taught entirely in English. Eligible students can now sequentially attain both a Master's and Doctoral degree from Osaka University, a leading Japanese University, while having minimal to no experience in the Japanese language. These highly qualified and globally recognized graduate students will not only participate in cutting edge research, but also gain a sophisticated understanding of advanced engineering science topics. 2. Qualifications of Applicants

1. Nationality: must be from the countries whose citizens are eligible for Monbukagakusho Scholarship (Japanese Government Scholarship).
2. Age: must be less than 35 years as of April 1, 2010 (i.e. born after April 2, 1975).
3. Education:
   1. graduated or are expected to graduate by September 30, 2010 from a university or a college
   2. completed or are expected to complete 16 years of formal study by September 30, 2010,
   3. Completed or are expected to complete 15 years of school education in countries outside Japan by September 30, 2010, or completed or are expected to complete 15 years of correspondence courses in Japan administered by foreign schools. Also must be recognized as having outstanding academic records by the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University, or
   4. equivalent to university graduates as recognized by the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University.
4. Language ability: must have good understanding of English.

3. Scholarship Benefits

1. Allowance: 157,000 JPY (approximately 1,570 USD) per month for the Master’s course (allowance might be revised)
2. Fees for entrance examination and admission, and tuition: exempted
