The Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources, members of the faculty and students from Nong Lam University (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) visit the Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quoc Tuan , the Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources, two professors of the faculty and five students from Nong Lam University (Vietnam) visited the Graduate School of Engineering Science on July 3 and 4, 2019.
As four of their students will be coming to the Graduate School of Engineering Science as special research students in October, we not only discussed how they would spend their research period and academic topics, but she was also able to see for herself how research activities are actually carried out, thus this proved to be a valuable visit.
On July 3, they had the opportunity to experience and observe cutting-edge research experiments at the Umakoshi Laboratory (Chemical Engineering)
and were pleasantly surprised to have the chance to participate in an event where they dressed in yukatas (a casual, single-layered cotton kimono, usually worn in summer) at the Advisement Office for International Students. We hope that they were able to get a taste of the Japanese culture by putting it on.
After touring the Museum of Osaka University on July 4, a joint seminar was held sponsored by the Umakoshi Laboratory at the Graduate School of Engineering Science, where academic exchange between our guests from Nong Lam University and members of the faculty as well as students from ES were strengthened.
